Cathy Hardaway
Cathy Ann Hardaway is a native of Scranton, PA and a graduate of Scranton Central High School, Class of 1978. After receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from The Pennsylvania State University, University Park, Cathy relocated to Williamsport, PA where she began working as a pharmaceutical sales representative with Hoffman La Roche, INC covering an eleven county sales territory in Central Pennsylvania. As fate would have it in on one of these sales calls Cathy met her husband of twenty three years, Dr. Alfred E. Hardaway. Alfred and Cathy currently reside in Newton Township with their two children, Eric age 20, Christen age 17 and a foster daughter Tierney age 18.

Since January of 2009 Cathy has been the Director of Older Adult Programs for United Neighborhood Centers of Northeastern Pennsylvania. In this position she is responsible for the oversight of four senior centers in Lackawanna County which include the Carbondale Senior Center, Mid Valley Senior Center in Jessup, and the South Side and West Side Senior Centers located in the city of Scranton.
Many of you may have met Cathy when she was employed as the Director of Voter Education for Lackawanna County. During her four year tenure with Lackawanna County, Cathy served in an administrative role in the Bureau of Elections and was responsible for the implementation of the Help America Vote Act of 2002.
As an elected official, Cathy has completed ten years of service as a member of the Abington Heights Board of Education and has served as President of the school board for eight of those ten years.
Cathy is committed to being a leader in her community and currently serves on the Scranton Area Foundation Board of Governors, the Penn State Worthington Campus Advisory Board, the Lackawanna County Commission for Women and the Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast Committee.
Cathy is a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Scranton where she currently serves as the President of the Women of Shiloh, Assistant Treasurer, Trustee and is a member of the Vessels of Praise Gospel Choir and the Pastoral Search Committee.
Cathy is the daughter of Gwendlyn Strader Douglas, Ernest Douglas and the late John E. Strader.
