DR. AMY BUTLER - Director of Emergency and Critical Care
Dr. Amy Butler obtained her Doctoral Veterinary Medicine degree in 2000 from Michigan State University, and then completed an internship at University of Minnesota. Dr. Butler worked as an emergency and critical care clinician at several hospitals in Michigan before entering an Emergency and Critical Care Residency, and obtaining a Masters degree at Colorado State University.
After completing her residency, Dr. Butler became an Associate Professor of Emergency and Critical Care at the Ohio State University, where she has also been the head of the internship committee. Dr. Butler's research interests include cardiopulmonary physiology, monitoring and oxygen delivery. Dr. Butler is the author of many research and journal publications.
Dr. Butler initially joined VREC as a full time consultant and became the Director of the Emergency and Critical Care department in July, 2011.
When not working, she is skiing, gardening, sailing, improving her historic home, cooking, wine tasting, home brewing or watching college football.
